Taken from Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" books, the Prose Portal is a machine that gives one the ability to bookjump, the term used for entering novels, or any body of text, at will. An example is when Thursday Next enters Bronte's "Jane Eyre" to return the kidnapped Jane, as told in Fforde's "The Eyre Affair."
The Prose Portal Blog is, unfortunately, the closest the reviewers (and the readers) can get to the bookjumping experience.
